PACE Awards Teachers for Students' Accomplishments

The Professional Association of Colorado Educators (PACE), the state’s only non-union teachers association, is pleased to award individual $600 scholarships to the seven teachers of the top student winners of the 2010 Colorado Science and Engineering Fair.  As a thank you to teachers who assist their students as they learn, grow and develop an understanding and appreciate of math, engineering and science, PACE has offered scholarships for the teachers to attend one of the nationally-acclaimed summer 2010 Space Discovery Institute courses for educators.  Congratulations to:
 
·         Don Anderson, Sacred Heart of Jesus School
·         Greg Busby, North Middle School
·         Karl Donnelson, Otis Jr/Sr High School
·         Laura Duncan, Boulder High School
·         Doug Horton, Hotchkiss High School
·         Mary Klass, Preston Middle School
·         John Wiley, Cherry Creek Challenge School
 
“PACE is proud to award these fine educators with scholarships to attend a course at the Space Discovery Institute,” stated Dr. Kris Enright, PACE Executive Director.  “I am pleased that these educators used their skills and professionalism to contribute so much toward their students’ success.”
 
There are five Space Foundation curriculum courses in which the teachers can participate: 
 
·         Rocketry (June 14-18)
·         Pre K-2 Early Childhood Space Exploration (June 21-25)
·         Biological and Physical Research (June 21-25)
·         Space Technologies in the Classroom (July 12-16)
·         Earth Systems Science (July 19-23)
