PACE Gives Over $1,000 to Fund Classroom Projects
The Professional Association of Colorado Educators (PACE), the state’s only non-union teachers association, is pleased to announce that two PACE members received significant funds to purchase classroom items and supplies. Both members posted their project on DonorsChoose.org and PACE was able to provide a majority of the needed funding to purchase the supplies.
PACE congratulates:
- David Dillard (Pueblo 60)- $533 toward a portable document camera
- Brigitte Davis (Falcon School District 49) - $533 toward an outdoor storage shed
Dillard’s project will “provide the spark needed to ignite my student's imaginations and engage their attention throughout the day to all kinds of lessons,” stated Dillard. The document camera plugs into a computer to record photographs and displays live video of what is placed under it. Dillard stated, “These students live in the age of television and internet, where chalkboard diagrams are simply not enough to grab their attention and stimulate their dreams for the future. The camera will allow students to see their own work displayed on the big screen.”
Davis works in a charter school and is a teacher without a classroom. She stated, “My cart takes me to my classes-loaded and unloaded as needed for the class I am teaching. The extra space is needed to keep our supplies in great shape to be used for years.”
“PACE is proud to present the funding needed for the projects to such worthy recipients,” stated Dr. Kris Enright, PACE Executive Director. “I commend the recipients for creating and finding ways to implement innovative ideas in their classrooms as well as finding avenues to further their education or the education of their students. Students will benefit greatly from these dedicated teachers.”
Dedicated to the academic and personal growth of every student, PACE is the premier
DonorsChoose.org’s mission is to improve public education by empowering every teacher to be a change-maker and enabling any citizen to be a philanthropist. This vision is a nation where students in every community have the resources they need to learn.
